The "Not so perfect" red high chair

I found an old and tired "high chair" at a thrift store.

It isn't your standard high chair, which is what I loved about it.

We will be keeping this piece for our home and using it when our "little" loved ones come and visit.

It fits right under the table and acts almost as a "booster" seat.

But wait a minute, I know you guys and you want to get to the pictures first before you have to hear all the chit chat.

Ok......here you go, a pretty after first...and then the before.

Sweet isn't it?!

I bet you are wondering why I call it the "not so perfect red" aren't you?

I will get to that in a bit.

It needed it's new life, didn't it?

This red is also a Valspar color and one of the samples that I didn't go with on my front door.

When I first painted this piece, it was very evident it wasn't "my perfect red", like this little table.....

After painting this table, I just distressed it and added wax and it gave me this warm red color.

The high chair was a different story. It first was a bright, cherry-like red after painting it the "not so perfect red" sample....so I needed to warm it up with other products.

I used the same technique that I used for my kitchen table and it warmed the "not so perfect red" to "perfection".......you can click "here" to see my tutorial and what I use.

The technique is painting, distressing, then applying stain and following up with wax. It is easy and gives it a warm distressed look.

 Perfect for the "not so perfect"......

Our little high chair is a pretty "pop" in our breakfast room and I know it will be fun to pull out when "little" ones visit.
