Raise your hand if your heart just skipped a beat.
I want to marry those key holes.
Seriously....how much cuter can they be?
I found this little antique chest at a flea market.
It was sad and beat up.
And I knew it needed to be red.
I pictured a little boys bedroom. I was going to embellish it with pirate details......
But if I did....it wouldn't fit into my decor and I had a funny feeling that this chest wasn't leaving my house.
This is the same red that I used on my front door.
I am going tomorrow to get more.
I am ready to paint this "town" red.
For real.
Anyone want the formula?
I will share it either way, so close your eyes when I do if you do not care to have this luscious red formula.......
I love it so much that I put a "consignment retail" price on it on Craigslist.
If it sells....then it doesn't need to be by my bed.....like it is.
Besides the fact that it sort of looks weird there.
BUT I wanted it close by.
That's how much I love it.
Is it just me?
Anyone else?
Do you guys like it?
Hate it?
If you hate it......
I question our bloggy friendship.
Ok, I don't.....but seriously.....you have to love it too, don't you?
Want another quick before and after?
Be still my heart.........
Talk to me people!
I miss hearing from you!
It feels soooooooo good to be painting again!
Love,
Me

ReplyDeleteso once more you took a lovely solid wood piece of antique craftsmanship and covered it with paint.... It SO works! I too have my hand way up. Maybe it's the red, the details... whatever it's all gooood. Winner!
ReplyDeletePink is my signature color and as much as I love i, I would not have painted that that little trunk/chest any color but the red that you used. It suits it perfectly.
ReplyDeletelove love love. I love red. it's gorgeous. I just picked up a piece this weekend that i intended to sell. but the longer it sits there, the more i love it.

oh i LOVE this! that color is awesome, and the piece is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite of all your pieces. Love, love, love the red!
ReplyDeleteI'm a lover of red, too. Can we arm wrestle for it? CT to NC. maybe via Skype (which I've never used). You're already married so even if the different species rules didn't apply, you still couldn't marry it. If you get a nudge that won't go away that you have a friend up north that really needs that table, let me know, K? :-)

One Chatty Chic
It is gorgeous! The finish is so beautiful! Stopping yb from Inspiration Friday.
ReplyDeleteA lovely transformation! A fine piece of furniture, too!
ReplyDeleteYes, please post the formula for the red - I'm LOVING this piece!!
ReplyDeleteMy hand has been up for a long time. I am looking forward to the formula. When a chest of drawers calls, or any furniture for that matter, listen. You obviously have a good ear as well as a good eye. It was calling you and your love for it shows. It couldn't be more perfect. I think I'm in love with it too, but I respect you two's "relationship". I would love to hear if anyone buys at your consignment retail price. If not, you know you'd hate to break up with it anyway. I found you at Stuff and Nonsense's link party. I subscribed. I hope you'll stop and follow at Quirky Vistas!
ReplyDeleteLiz
I completely understand the 'love'! A perfect red!
ReplyDeleteI must have this red formula.
