Wow!!!! You've got a great garden!!! I just love fresh green beans and cucumbers!!! Ooohhh, and I see the makings for salsa!!! Always the sign of a smart gardener!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd take out at least half of the squash..it vines out and makes a ton of shade with those huge leaves. Plus, it'll turn you into that friend and neighbor that leaves squash on doorsteps in the middle of the night to get rid of it!!! ;) I've been there, my friend....I've been there!!!

ReplyDeleteDo squash grow like pumpkins? I planted a few pumpkin seeds in a small patch and the vines took off across the back yard.

ReplyDeleteMy husband's squash is doing the same thing! He is picking about a 5 gal. bucket a day and it just started producing this week!! Did you know that you can let your cucumbers grow up on tomato cages or a fence, they make great that way.

ReplyDeleteI noticed quite a few squash (zucchini?) flowers peeking from under the "jungle." If you have some tempura mix handy, you might want to think about picking a few. Stuff 'em with a little mozzarella, maybe a bit of anchovy or prosciutto, do a quick dunk in the tempura and then off to the frying pan. YUM!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. Don't see plants like those here till mid-late summer. The recommendation is not to put anything "tender" in the ground till after Mother's Day. I drove by greenhouses today selling plants that aren't nearly the size of yours. We're not just on different sides of the Mason/Dixon line we might as well be on different sides of the world! I'd love to be a neighbor you shared with, hehe.

ReplyDelete6 squash plants!? I had one yellow squash plant last year and 2 zucchini plants. I LOVE them, but I ate it and ate it and ate it and my freezer is STILL full of zucchini. This year I have one of each for our family of seven and I think it will be more than sufficient. I STILL have to get my tomato plants in the ground and my potatoes planted. Yesterday I built a planter box for my deck herb garden. I just love this time of year!
