The Princess and the Pirate

Be prepared.

I told you that I have been on a children's furniture kick lately.

You saw my pirate chalkboard, baby pirate dresser and pink nightstand.

AND

I am not finished.

I love it!

I went out on a whim with these two pieces and really hope you like it.

I thought it would be fun to show these two little pretties together and not save them for separate posts.

Are you ready?

Eeek!

What if you hate them?

Be merciful!

Ready?

I introduce, "The Pirate" and "The Princess".

Are you still there?

Did you run screaming?

In my defense,  the other pink nightstand and baby pirate's dresser have sold already.

So, I think this may really be a fun niche for me.

I will still do other pieces but I love supplementing my work with children's pieces.

The large pirate dresser sold before I could even take it to Inlet Queens, so I thought this might be a fun replacement.

Chunky, cute and masculine nightstand......

Sweet and dainty nightstand......

They were both thrift store pieces that needed new lives.....

So, I obliged.

I loved the look of my nautical piece and didn't want to change it up too much.

I just wanted to appreciate it's features.

The only big change was taking the hardware off of the middle of the middle drawer. The four chunky knobs were enough to open it with and after filling the holes, it gave me the perfect place to paint an anchor.

This plain little nightstand had the little detail under the drawers that made me think girl....

I don't know why but when I started painting it and the gray and pink began blending so perfectly, I  knew glass knobs would be my only improvement.

And here they are now.....

New lives!

For a whole new generation!

Cool isn't it?

Like them?

The Ce Ce's gray paint makes getting multiple pieces out so much easier.

And I can use latex with the clay paint and it blends beautifully.

For the princess dresser I used the pretty pink that I used on my last pink end table.

"Oh So Pink" made by Valspar.

And two paints, some distressing and wah lah!

Fit for a princess AND a pirate!

Don't you think?

I am anxious to see what happens when I take them to my "booth".

Keep your fingers crossed?

Like the children's pieces?

I have some grown up stuff to show you all as well.

So, talk to me people!

I can't wait to hear what you all have to say!

Love,

Me
