Roomie time!

Do you remember when Freebird moved into her first apartment?

Many of you are new around here and may enjoy the past post of when my daughter left the nest.....you can catch up "here". It was one of my most shared posts.

I'm only catching you up, because if you remember Freebirds first apartment you will remember one of my most "pinned" and "popular" chalkboard transformations.

How many of you remember her coffee table?

Well, she loved it so much in her first apartment, that I decided to transform one to sell.

Want an easy and fun transformation for otherwise plain or "bu-gly" coffee tables?

 Here you go!

Check out this before.....

I know.....plain ole plain......

You can usually pick these up cheap because of the fake wood factor.

But take some chalk paint and...... Wah lah!

Wahly lah ha!

Wahly wahly la la ha!

Now...remember the sweet and touching story about Freebird leaving the nest?

Well, guess what? That's right.

She flew back. She is switching her major and finishing out at our local university to save on student loans. I am loving having her back home and she feels a "new" peace about switching her major. She is changing it to education and will finish in about a year. She will be an English teacher.

Think she will tutor me on grammar?

Isn't it funny how life changes?

Have you ever had a little chick-a-dee fly back INTO the nest?

Ever think you could find a use for a chalkboard coffee table?

I can't wait to hear what you say....

Love,

Me

  2. Mine are still in the "learning to fly" phase of leaving the nest. My youngest will be a Senior in high school next month. A year from now, things will look vastly different. I LOVE having my sons and their friends around! Enjoy your the chance to spend time with your daughter! What a wonderful blessing for BOTH of you! :)

  7. The table is awesome, love it.
My son left for college 3 years ago. Came home last year with a girlfriend, a baby on the way, a dog and a cat. My house went from mine, mine, all mine to bursting at the seams. My grand daughter just had her first birthday and I love having her here. They will probably be with me until the girlfriend finishes college (she's gonna be an English teacher also).
