I explained to you yesterday, that although I have not kept you updated, changes are still happening in our home.
If you remember, back a few months ago, I shared the colors that I wanted to implement into my living room.
I needed to do this on a budget.
Budget. CHECK.
Colors....Close......
Here is a peek.
Which leads me to my curtains.
Do you recognize them?
They are how I met many of you......click "here" for their story.
But before their home here in my budgeted/used/thrifted made over living room.....they lived here.
In my dining room, which now houses these NEW panels.
Why you ask?
Because transforming my living room led to transforming my guest room, which led to transforming my dining room.
Confused yet?
Notice the sheers shorter than the curtain panel.
I love this new fashion trend.
It is tidy and smart.
And ALL the rage.........
It was also invented by me when I realized that my sheers were too short but I was too frustrated to do anything about it after finding out that my curtain panels were too short after my husband and I about divorced trying to hang them and I didn't know that until they were on the rod and my husband nervously said...ummmm.....do you want the curtains to hang this high and cowered in fear as I glanced down and about brain hemorrhaged and then I had to take the curtains down from the weakly held up rods from our about to divorce installation and take out all the hems from the top and bottom of each panel to try to get SIX AND A HALF more inches from an 84" in curtain panel and make it into a 91" inch panel and I kept cutting holes in the fabric when I was doing that and my sweet sister-in-law had to help me and do a tiny roll over hem in my curtains and now they were perfect......perfect........
BUT my sheers were now shorter than my panels.
That's when it became the new fashion trend.
And all the rage.
And cute and tidy.
But who is to say that it isn't right.
I'm starting to like it.
Does anyone have my back on this one?
Do I need to un-hem my sheers?
Do I need to see if un-hem is actually a word?
Before you answer that question.......
Isn't the fabric pretty?
These are curtain panels from Lowes!
Love the color and the pattern.
And hey....technically they are adjustable-hem-curtains.
Which is all the "rage".
Here anyways.........
And if you only knew...I'm giving you the short version.
Luckies.
So....what do you think of the peeks so far?
Need reminders of what everything looked like before?
Click "here", "here", "here" and "here" to catch up.
And after you catch up tell me......
All the rage or pull out my seam rippers?
Let me know.
Love,
Me
I think they look great!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have done this before. I prefer my sheers shorter than the curtain panels. I also did it in my bedroom where I have sheer panels over sheers. I call it "sassy classy". lol We can make our own style & claim it the rage anytime we want, for whatever reason. That makes us "fashion trenders"!!
ReplyDeleteAll the rage!!!! For sure, they look great.
ReplyDeleteI say go with it and see how long it takes the magazines to call it their own idea!! :D It looks good, btw!!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great. All the rage!! I love the blue - reminds me of polish pottery which I love and collect. Jill
ReplyDeleteGot my vote, too. And it's perfectly sensible, especially for people with pets, like me. While poodles don't shed, they do bring in dirt on their feet (legs, bodies, heads). White sheers off the floor will keep white at the bottom much longer.

The hems are not really noticeable, and if someone should notice them, so what? Your house, your rules, your style. I think they look fine the way they are.
ReplyDeleteDON'T ...I REPEAT...DON'T TAKE A SEAM RIPPER TO SHEARS!!! Trust me here...you WILL regret it. It's such a thin, fine, persnickety fabric that I PROMISE it's best to leave well enough alone. And besides, they look great just the way they are:)
