You probably have a spotless house.
Spotless bathrooms.

Which is why I am using the beach house tubs for an example here.
So you won't "hate" on me.
I mean, my house is spotless.
And my kids are perfect.

Anyways.....this is not an ad. The Magic Eraser people do NOT have a clue who I am but I had to share this.
We battle soap scum at the beach house.
The tubs have the little grooves that pick up everything!
Suntan oil and dirty feet equals gross tubs, every.single.week. 5 bathtubs and tons of chemicals....and I was not happy with our bathtubs.
I have used the best soap scum removers but they just weren't looking good.
I thought maybe the tubs were just getting worn out..........
And then I found this.
The BATH SCRUBBER Magic Eraser.
I thought what the heck....and gave it a shot.
I adjusted the lighting on this shot......they weren't this grody.
They were close.
Ok.....
They were disgusting.
No lie.......20 minutes later and five tubs easily wiped down. Top to bottom.
Literally like brand.spanking.new.
Literally.
No heavy chemicals.
No scrubbing each tub after soaking in Mr Clean Soap Scum remover and waiting.....
I just wiped each tub with a dampened, BATH SCRUBBER, Magic Eraser and WAH LAH!......
One more reason that I want to marry the Magic Eraser.
I love this thing.

What makes the magic eraser work?
Magic Eraser is a cleaning stick made of melamine foam. Melamine is a resin used in construction and the automotive industry as a sound barrier and flame retardant. It also imparts strength and is used in such products as dinnerware and laminate counter tops.
The eraser is moistened with water so it adheres slightly to the surface to be cleaned. (Mr. Clean likens this to licking your finger when you turn a page.) Then it is rubbed over the spot or stain. The water breaks down the product into a microscopic polymer abrasive that grabs dirts in the spaces that a regular sponge or brush can't get to.
Totally going to try this the next time I pick up cleaning supplies. You rock!

ReplyDeleteyou know you can buy melamine foam on Amazon, Ebay and other sites a whole lot cheaper than Mr. Clean Magic. And just as good. Never tried the bathroom scrubbers type, but love the others. Used to use them when I worked with pre-k to scrub everything in the classroom at the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteDoes it work on acrylic tubs or will it scratch them?? If it wipes rust stains away I'm so in!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNorwex (environmentally friendly products)makes a 'hand sponge' that they say is less toxic and I know it works as well as this.
ReplyDeleteI've been using Mr. Clean sponges for a long time to get rid of soap scum (and lot's of other stuff too!). Works great for removing scum from glass shower doors too.
ReplyDeleteI tried Mr. Clean sponges when they first came out. I don't know what the big deal is....they sure never worked for me. Maybe I am missing something. Ajax is my favorite. It is non scratching and has chlorine bleach to get out stains.

ReplyDeleteOMGosh, I can so relate! I have this 60 year old house that I believe was built with a magnet in the walls that attracts dirt every.single.time I turn around. I'll clean a room spotless, which is Soooo my hobby (not), and the next thing I know, I'm turning around to find sticky goo stuck to my hip from some spot I missed.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Magic Erasers ROCK! They are my secret weapon before a party. Although, I have noticed that the spots on my countertops that I've repeatedly used them on are turning the countertop color to a lighter tone. Not a big deal for me though...I'd rather a white-ish tint on my teal-green than a red Koolaid stain.
